Beating the Odds: From Complex Spine Surgery to Recovery

In this video short I discuss a challenging case which showcases just how bad some spinal problems can become. The patient had stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal causing nerve and spinal cord compression) in three places of the spine: lumbar, thoracic and cervical all requiring surgical intervention.

To treat everything that was wrong in his back and neck required staged procedures (i.e. procedures which were done on separate days).

Hard work, planning and working together with my patient is what got it done. He was incredibly brave, and was willing to put in the time and work to get a great recovery.
